Bio:
Max Carver previously worked as a medical writer focused on genetics, genomics, and proteomics. A native of extremely rural Georgia (not the one by the Black Sea), he grew up reading everything at the tiny local library (very tiny; this is not a huge accomplishment) and also frequented a used bookstore with a selection of the old masters of science fiction, particularly enjoying Robert Heinlein and Frank Herbert. He has worked as a laboratory custodian, freelance journalist, seasonal fisherman, and bartender.
Max traveled back and forth across America in an ancient yet remarkably resilient Plymouth, though that was some time ago. He has visited dozens of Waffle Houses throughout the American Southeast, particularly those nearer the coasts, in search of both breakfast food and wisdom, with mixed results. He has published a variety of stories—whether nonfiction articles about the present or speculations about the future—in several now-defunct magazines, some literary, others less so.
His current interests include artificial intelligence, economics, ancient history, and low-budget movies about spaceships, robots, or monsters. He lives in a remote spot in the Appalachian Mountains at the end of a very long driveway, with a small pack of large dogs.
