C.L. Janet (Clare) writes dark, twisty crime stories set in Scotland, where the scenery is spectacular and the weather has anger issues. After earning a doctorate and twenty years lecturing in psychology and forensic science, she left academia to spend her days making up fictional crimes inspired by her greatest source of murderous thoughts, her husband, Ian (he’s still alive, I promise!). When she’s not plotting homicides, she can usually be found being outwitted by her two spirited spaniels, who ensure she never gets too comfortable by stealing socks, pilfering shoes, and generally behaving like tiny, furry criminal masterminds.
