Mark Harrison

After a dusty career in municipal administration Mark underwent a ‘lifestyle transplant’ when he quit the UK to live and write in Spain.

His first book, a humorous account of the joys and pitfalls of Spanish life became an Amazon No 1 best seller.

Next he turned to fiction, creating a series of four novels set in Spain and featuring British detective Michael Fernandez who,
despite his Spanish ancestry, hates Spain and has never been there
before.

After sixteen years, Mark returned to Staffordshire where he lives with his wife Vivien and Gala their Spanish rescue dog. He is currently working on the fifth Inspector Fernandez novel due out later in 2026.
